George F. Kidney
George Ford Kidney, son of Henry S. and Della Gentry Kidney, was born March 31, 1904, in Harrison County Missouri, and departed this life December 27, 1969, in Mesa, AZ, in which city he had resided for the last three years.
On January 20, 1923, he was united in marriage with Lottie Marie Timble and of this union were born two sons, Donald Junior, and Neil LaVerne. The wife and mother passed away on December 4, 1948.
He and Edith Hoyt were married on June 25, 1950, and their home was blessed with one son, Gary Wayne.
Mr. Kidney was a member of the First Baptist Church and Faith Lodge N. 179, A.F. & A.M. of Mount Ayr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Millsap of Torrington, WY.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his widow, Edith; three sons, Donald of Perry, LaVerne of Lima, OH, and Gary of the home; a stepson, Frank E. Elliott of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Mrs. W.T. Timbly of Mount Ayr, and three brothers, Dwight of Caldwell, ID, Earl of Torrington, WY, and Haven A. of Denver, CO.
Funeral services were held December 31, from the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Fred L. Trimble of Council Bluffs. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shields, Jr. and Kenneth Burright sang, accompanied at the organ by Margaret Pence, and casketbearers were Lloyd Angus, Howard Paist, Burl Sackett, Bernard Sullivan, Clifford Force, and Lloyd E. Stephens, Jr. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr.
