ROBERT DAVID LOUTZENHISER
Robert David Loutzenhiser of Blockton, IA passed away at the Bedford Colonial Manor on June 19, 1983, at the age of 91 years, eight months and 21 days.
Born September 28, 1891 in Ringgold County, IA, the third son of O.J. and Lizzie Judy Loutzenhiser, he spent most of his life as a farmer and good neighbor in that county, moving to the town of Blockton in 1957.
Rob and Bertha Warden were married on September 20, 1914 at Redding, IA. Bertha survives along with five children born to this union: Warden of Blockton, IA; Marjorie of Littleton, CO; Paul of Kingdom City, MO; Idalee of Alpena, MI; and Robert of Villisca, IA. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.
Funeral services were held at Blockton Christian Church Wednesday, June 22, 1983 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating were Rev. Mel Smith and Rev. Jim Ferris. Music was by Susan Beemer, pianist; and Kenneth and Linda Smith, singers. Casketbearers were grandsons. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Blockton. Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City, MO was in charge.
Rob was a successful farmer, good neighbor, and upstanding member and deacon of the Blockton Christian Church for over 60 years. His presence will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blockton Christian Church.
