Lori Hower, 42 of Creston, IA died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Services were held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Powers Funeral home at the junction of highways 25 & 34 in Creston. Pastor Dan Fields officiated. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are to be established.
Lori Angela Hower was born March 26, 1966 in Mount Ayr, IA to Shirley Ann Beymer and later joined by her step-father Ron Smith. She graduated form Diagonal High School and lived there until moving to Creston in 1984. On February 14, 1985 Lori was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Michael Hower in Creston. She worked at Farm and Home, Casey’s, Crestmoor Country Club, Video Escape, and A &W, Midwestern Diskette and was presently employed at RE Lewis Refrigeration as the accounting manager. Survivors include her husband, Bob Hower of Creston, her mother, Ann Smith of Mount Ayr; one daughter, Megan Hower and one son Dylan Hower both of Creston; her mother and father-in-law, Ron and Sharon Hower of Creston; her brother Jim (wife Lori) Norris and niece Allison of Diagonal, IA; her sister, Melanie (husband Mike) Corkish and niece Morgan and nephew Michael of Kalispell, MT; brother-in-law Phil (wife Julie) Hower and nephew Logan of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law Lyndsay (husband Don) Krings of Creston; her grandmother, Mildred Beymer of Diagonal and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ron Smith and grandfather, R.A. Bud Beymer.
