Sandford Dwane Handy July 26, 1940 – June 26, 2010

 Sanford Dwane Handy of Kellerton, Iowa passed away at the age of 69 on June 26, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be held at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Martensdale, Iowa on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. with a light luncheon to follow. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.

He was born on July 26, 1940 to Clyde Handy and Lillian Carris.  He was one of four children. He married Karla Kay Holzworth on August 25, 1962. He spent his life driving semi-trucks over the road.  He was truck driver of the year in 2005. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Karla Handy of Kellerton, Iowa; his sons, David and Charles Handy of Kellerton, Iowa and Daniel Handy of Norwalk, Iowa; his daughters, Kim Fuller of Norwalk and Kris Weaver of Martensdale, Iowa; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lillian Handy; a brother, Richard Handy; two sisters, Christina Handy and Lola Eckloff, and a grandson, D.R. Handy-Long.
