Lela Marguerite Rinehart November 20, 1921 – May 10, 2011

    Lela Marguerite Rinehart, 89, of Mount Ayr, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
    Lela was born November 20, 1921 near Allendale in Worth county, Missouri to Perry and Audra Smith. She was united in marriage with Homer Rinehart in 1941 and together they have operated a farm south of Mount Ayr. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 15.
    She was an active member of the Community of Christ Church located in Mount Ayr.
    Lela is survived by her husband, Homer of Mount Ayr, Iowa; three sons, Larry of Ankeny, Iowa, Terry of West Des Moines, Iowa and Mark of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Laura of Ankeny, Iowa and Laura of Amarillo. Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley and Katarina, and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Emily.
    Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Audra, and her sister, Lois Phillips.
    A memorial fund has been established in her name.
    Services were conducted at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Tony and Sandy Crandell, elders, officiated. Vocalist was Frank Hudson.
