Martin Frederick Hintz December 18, 1934 – November 10, 2011

Martin Frederick Hintz was born December 18, 1934 to Emil and Clella Osta Johnson Hintz on a farm northwest of Clarinda, Iowa and passed away November 10, 2011.
Martin graduated from Clarinda high school in 1953. He served three years in the U.S. Army which included 16 months in Korea.
In June 1959 Martin married Wanda Kingsolver. To this union three sons were born, Robert Martin, Rodney Wayne and Roger Lynn.
Martin graduated from Iowa State University in 1960 with a degree in agriculture education. He taught vocational agriculture education for six years. He was a territory sales manager for a major seed corn company for two years. Martin then went to work for the Soil Conservation Service from which he retired in 1992.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 35 years; two sisters, and one brother.
He is survived by his sons, Robert and wife Linda, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild of Lenox, Iowa, Rodney of Neenah, Wisconsin and Roger and wife Maria and granddaughters of Boone, Iowa; sister, Laura Loveland of Moravia, Iowa; brother, Ernest and wife Julia of Bethany, Missouri, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established to the William R. Bliss Cancer Center at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.
Services were conducted at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Saturday, November 12, 2011, with Rev. Tim Maxa officiating. Musical selections included ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘In The Garden.’
Casket bearers were Richard Hintz, Alan Hintz, Ken Moore, Robert Davison, Dan Wells and Adam Velde.
Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post #98.
Martin was laid at rest in the Clarinda Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa.
