Norma Talley Hohlfeld October 27, 1935 – January 23, 2012

Norma Hohlfeld, 76, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, of which she was an active member.
Norma was born on October 27, 1935 in Winnebago, Minnesota to Grace (Adams) and John Talley. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, of which she was an active member.
Norma was born on October 27, 1935 in Winnebago, Minnesota to Grace (Adams) and John Talley. She grew up in Mora, Minnesota, attended the University of Minnesota and participated in summer stock theater where she met her future husband, William Hohlfeld. They raised their family in Mount Ayr where she and Bill started the Moonlighters Theater Group. Norma worked for the Iowa Department of Human Services for 25 years, retiring in 1997 as the program manager for the Promise Jobs program. In retirement she continued as a program consultant for various state agencies.
Norma is survived by husband of 55 years William Hohlfeld; children Paul (Marchell) Hohlfeld of Des Moines, Iowa, Talley Sue (William Terdoslavich) Hohlfeld of New York City, New York, Lee (Marilyn) Hohlfeld of Huntsville, Alabama and Anne Marie (Don) Bryan of North Saint Paul, Minnesota; ‘German sons’ Frank Raue and Hannas Lauerbach; siblings Marilyn (Michael Sicora) Matheny of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sandra (Fritz) Grupp of Dewey, Arizona and Terry (Tina) Talley of Katy, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harlan Talley.
