Timothy Jon Novak
Timothy Jon ‘Tim’ Novak, 63, of Ravenwood, Missouri passed away May 1, 2012. On October 12, 1948, Tim was the first of five children born to Cyril Laverne ‘Bus’ and Mary (Swett) Novak.
Tim was raised on the family farm south of Diagonal, Iowa. He graduated from Diagonal high school in 1967.
On August 7, 1999 Tim was united in marriage to Connie Lorraine Walker at the Assembly of God Church in Grant City, Missouri. They shared 13 loving years of marriage together. His two children, Chris and Tara, were born in a previous marriage with Phyllis Fletchall.
Tim’s true passion in life was being a diesel mechanic. His love and mechanical knowledge enabled him to establish his own business, Northwest Engine. Tim was one of the most sought after mechanics in the area. He spent many hours working on pulling tractors for himself and others.
Tim enjoyed gardening, family get-togethers and following the sporting events of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Reading and crossword puzzles were favorite past-times of his.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joe.
Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home in Ravenwood, Missouri; his son, Chris (Bobbie) Novak of Grant City, Missouri; his daughter, Tara (Jason) Lynch of Maloy, Iowa; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emma and Ella Novak of Grant City, Missouri and Paige and PJ Lynch of Maloy, Iowa; his brother, Tom Novak of Diagonal, Iowa; his sister, Sherri Sheil (Steve Brown) of Clarinda, Iowa; his brother, Rob Novak of Diagonal, Iowa, and numerous relatives and family friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 4 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City with Rev. Len Green officiating. Interment was in the Athelston Cemetery near Athelston, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home.
