HAROLD BRANDON REPP

    Harold Brandon Repp, son of Brandon and Katherine (Smith) Repp, was born April 11, 1934 at Chariton, Iowa.
    Harold graduated from Chariton high school. Harold was united in marriage to Verla L. Adams on November 29, 1953 at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr. For the next 24 years, Harold served his country. He was in the U.S. Navy for four years and the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Harold and the family had the opportunity to live in several cities and foreign countries. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Harold and the family moved to Mount Ayr. In 1976 Harold started Ringgold Sanitation. Harold eventually became a rural mail carrier and retired from there. Harold was a member of Ringgold Post #172 and with Verla they were very active in the Legion.
    Harold passed away May 27, 2012 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. He was preceded in death by his father, Brandon Repp; mother, Katherine Ogden, and sister, Karen Ripperger.
    Survivors include his wife, Verla Repp of Mount Ayr, Iowa; children, David Repp and wife Deb of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Debbie Hankins and husband Jim of Ankeny, Iowa and Diane Lee of Johnston, Iowa; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne Schrader of Chariton, Iowa, and other relatives and friends.
    A memorial fund has been established to Ringgold Post #172, American Legion in Mount Ayr.
    Services were held at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr on Thursday, May 31, 2012, with Rev. Chris Conklin officiating. Musicians were Andy Trullinger, Mary Davenport and Margaret Bickers.
    Casket bearers included David Repp, Jim Hankins, Andrew Petersen, Mark Ripperger, Greg Moore and Duane Adams.
    Military rites were by Ringgold Post #172 and the Iowa Honor Guard Unit.
    Harold was laid at rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr.
