RICHARD DEAN LINDEMAN

    Richard Dean Lindeman, son of Leland and Caroline (Flock) Lindeman, was born August 23, 1944 at Stanhope, Iowa. Richard graduated from Stanhope high school in 1962. He served seven years in the U.S. Armed Forces. On June 21, 1986, he married Janice Carlson Lindeman. Richard has lived in Ringgold county since 1984. He had worked at Southway Trucking. Since 1984 Richard has worked at various service stations, the Co-op and was a short distance hauler for the Amish community. Richard was a member of Ringgold Post #172 American Legion in Mount Ayr. He liked to go fishing in his spare time. Richard enjoyed having some horses and a few cows. Richard passed away on June 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
    Survivors include his wife, Janice Lindeman of Mount Ayr, Iowa; daughter, Colleen Vanderflught and husband Al of Saint Charles, Iowa; grandchildren, Kelsie and Megan Whitson and Luke and Curt Vanderflught; brother, Phillip Lindeman and wife Jan of Wisconsin; sister, Marilyn Rehm and husband Gene of Dows, Iowa; sister-in-law, Diane Lindeman of Wisconsin, and nieces, nephews and friends.
    A memorial fund has been established in his name. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.
    A funeral mass was held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Mount Ayr on Thursday, June 14, 2012, with Fr. Glen Wilwerding officiating. Music was by Betsy Keenan.
    Honorary pallbearers were John Peters, DVM, Paul McKinney, Gary Bickers, Larry Adams, Jim Eason, Don Zollman, Bill Schaefer, Larry Denney, Tom Ford, Howard Johnson and Kenneth Hebensperger.
    Military rites were provided by Ringgold Post #172 and the Iowa Honor Guard Unit.
    Burial was in the Benton cemetery in Benton.
