RICHARD B. SCHERRUEBLE
Richard B. Scherrueble, 72, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, in Sandwich, Illinois.
Richard was born August 10, 1939 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Milton H. and Cleora (Byrne) Scherrueble.
Richard retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad after many years as an electrician. He also worked for the EJ&E Railroad and Naperville school district #203. Richard was always willing to help family and friends with their electrical issues.
Richard was in the Air Force, stationed in Omaha, Nebraska, where he met his wife. He was an avid car and train fan for many years and was a HAM radio enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marjorie (Parker) Scherrueble of Aurora; a daughter, Kimberly (Timothy) Forbes of Sheridan and their children, Timothy and Emily; a daughter, Kelly (David) Harter of Gilberts and their children, Paige and Kaci; a brother-in-law, Doyle Parker of Shannon City, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Helen (Tom) Gutt of Liberty, Missouri and Joyce Manship of Dallas, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents. He was also preceded in death by his special son, Duane A. Scherrueble.
A memorial fund has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60531.
Services were conducted at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa on Monday, June 18, 2012, with Pastor Edward Shields officiating. Musical selections included ‘The Old Rugged Cross’ and ‘Amazing Grace.’
Casket bearers included Tim Forbes, Doyle Parker, David Parker, David Harter, Kimberly Forbes and Emily Forbes.
Military rites were conducted by the Iowa Honor Guard Unit.
Burial was in the Redding Cemetery in Redding, Iowa.
