ELOISE FAIRIE SHAW

Eloise Fairie Shaw, daughter of Guy and Levina Combs Staton, was born November 1, 1925 near Allendale, Missouri. The family moved to the Redding area and Eloise would live most of her life on a farm near Redding. Eloise graduated from Redding high school in 1943. On March 21, 1945, she married Homer L. Shaw at Troy, Kansas. Eloise was a farm wife and mother for most of her adult life. She worked at Grant City Manufacturing for 15 years. Soon after Homer’s death on February 7, 1997, Eloise moved into Mount Ayr where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Redding United Methodist Church and the U.M.W.

Eloise passed away October 13, 2012 at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer, and brother-in-law, Darrell Shaw.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jerry Shaw and wife Carol of Paducah, Kentucky; granddaughter, Heather Williams and husband Jarrett of Prattville, Alabama and their children Alexis, Peyton, Cailyn and Ansley Williams, and grandson, Adam Shaw of Granite City, Illinois and his children, Caleb, Benjamin and Ethan Shaw.

A memorial fund has been established to the Methodist Church. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.

Services were conducted at the United Methodist Church in Redding on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, with Rev. Skip Rushing officiating. Musicians included Nancy Sackett, Carol Shaw and Nancy Chapman.

Casket bearers included Adam Shaw, Mike Lents, Milt Chapman, Jarrett Williams, Bob Shafer and Jim Coulson.

Eloise was laid at rest in the Redding Cemetery in Redding.
