PHILLIP VINCENT LUFT

PHILLIP VINCENT LUFT
Phillip Vincent Luft was born January 27, 1977 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the son of Doris Jean (Dukes) Luft and Jim Luft. Phillip grew up at Mount Ayr and graduated from Mount Ayr Community high school in 1996. Phillip lived in Kansas City and worked at Time-Warner. He returned to Mount Ayr and has worked at Swine Graphics.
Phillip was a kind-hearted man who didn’t know a stranger. Once you knew Phillip, you couldn’t help but love him. Phillip was known for the hug when he met you and the bigger hug when you parted. Although all of Phillip’s cousins claimed that they were Grandma Dukes’ favorite, they all know now that Phillip was her favorite!
The love of Phillip’s life was his daughter, MeKenzie. She was the twinkle in his eye and his pride and joy. Phillip loved spending time with her and teaching her all the fundamentals of fishing. Phillip was a jokester who left a smile on everyone’s face.
Phillip passed away suddenly on October 19, 2012. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, MeKenzie Luft of Kansas City, Kansas; mother, Doris Redman of Mount Ayr, Iowa; father, Jim Luft of Harris, Texas; sister, Mary Jean Esteban of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Ken England and wife Amanda of Baltimore, Maryland; niece, Courtney Esteban and nephew Tyler Esteban, both of Kansas City, Missouri; extended Luft family members, Royce, Steve, Lynda and Carla; aunts; uncles; cousins, and many good friends.
A visitation was held October 22, 2012. Memorials are to the family to be decided later. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.
