BETTY GROSS

    Betty Gross, 80, of Creston, Iowa died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Creston Nursing & Rehab Center in Creston. Services were Friday, November 16, 2012, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Memorials are to Iowa Hospice. Online condolences can be left at www.powersfh.com. 
    Betty Jean Gross was born November 21, 1931 in Diagonal, Iowa to Wanda Mae (Johnston) and Harry Graham. She graduated from Creston high school in 1949. On September 10, 1949 Betty was united in marriage to Richard ‘Dick’ Douglas Gross. They lived in Creston for 64 years where Betty was a claims representative for 30 years at the social security office and retired on May 20, 1988. Betty and Richard bought an acreage near Goose Pond Corner, before moving to an apartment in Mount Ayr. They moved to Maple Ridge Assisted Living in Mount Ayr and after Dick passed away, Betty moved to Creston Nursing & Rehab Center in May 2012. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston.
    Betty is survived by sons Dennis (wife Lori) Gross of Creston, Iowa, Michael (wife Glenda) Gross of West Des Moines, Iowa and Richard (wife Gina) Gross of Newman, Georgia; grandchildren Tony Gross, Joey (wife April) Gross and Shaune (wife Tonya) Tindle, all of Creston, Iowa, Jennifer (husband Aaron) Jackson of Carlisle, Iowa and Brian (wife Myra) Gross of Marquette, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
    Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard ‘Dick’ Gross in 2010; Doug (wife Velda) Graham; her sister, Mary Recoy on July 25, 2012; grandson, Nathan (wife Kim) Gross in 2003 and granddaughter-in-law, Vicky Gross.

    betty gross is my grate grandma she died when i was 4 i,m 11 now i miss her so much and i hope shes in heaven haveing a great rest
