DORA MAY THOMSON
Mrs. Thomson, a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on November 9, 2012 at the Inn at SharonBrooke. She was born on February 4, 1930 to the late Forrest and Adelaide (Trisler) Robison in Ellston, Iowa.
Mrs. Thomson received a bachelor of science degree from Tarkio College and a master’s degree from the Ohio State University. She was retired from Newark high school after 30+ years. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church since 1968 and was a Stephens Minister for many years. She was also a member of the Newark Education Association. For several years she dedicated many hours a week to the food pantry at Second Presbyterian Church, part of the Licking County Food Network.
She is survived by her children, Diane Thomson of Appleton, WI, Steven (Melanie) Thomson of Massillon and Carolyn (John) Belisle of Newark; grandchildren, Ryan (Jenna) Augenstein, Jaclyn Thomson, Michelle Augenstein, Sarah Belisle, Kurtis Thomson, Daniel Belisle and Colleen Thomson; siblings, Eugene (Joyce) Robison, Naomi (George) Hosfield and David (Sharon) Robison, all of Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Dean Thomson, who passed away December 29, 2011.
Services were held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Second Presbyterian Church in Newark, Ohio with the Reverend Charles C. Smith III officiating. Rick Black was the organist. Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home of Newark assisted the family with arrangements.
Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
