FRANCES BULLOCK

Frances Bullock, daughter of Della Angela Oliver and James Lawrence Parker, was born July 10, 1912 in Redding, Iowa. She grew up in the Redding area and graduated from Redding high school. On May 14, 1932 she married William Sidney Bullock in Redding. Frances spent the last 55 years of her life in Creston, Iowa. She was a homemaker and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston, United Methodist Women, UFW Auxiliary and Birthday Pals. She raised a large flower and vegetable garden and canned vegetables. She played basketball in the day of the bloomers and enjoyed watching basketball.
Frances passed away September 19, 2013 at the Afton Care Center at the age of 101.
Survivors include her son, Roy (Norma) Bullock of Creston, Iowa; daughter, Billie (Larry) Embree of Quincy, Illinois; son, Paul (Linda) Bullock of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Paulette (Robert) Brotherton of Las Cruces, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Mary Bullock of Colorado; sister, Mary Fox of Sterling, Colorado; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; five brothers, Elvin, Sam, Paul, Oliver and twin brother Frank; four sisters, Thelma, Martha, Ruth and Florence; son, Larry Bullock, and a daughter, Lanore Ireland.
Services were conducted at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr Monday, September 23, 2013, with Pastor Gideon Gallo officiating. Musicians were Nancy Sackett and Cynthia Spurr.
Casket bearers included Kent Embree, Kirk Embree, Evan Embree, Randy Spurr, Nathan Spurr and Randy Parker.
Burial was in the Redding Cemetery in Redding. Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church in Creston and the Afton Care Center.
