FRANKLIN LEROY MORSE

    Franklin Leroy Morse, son of Everett and Opal (Jones) Morse, was born at home near Conway, Iowa on March 4, 1950. He grew up in Ringgold county and went to Mount Ayr Community school. Leroy worked at Gummy Bears factory in Creston for 15+ years and did farm work on the side. He loved to spend time with the grandkids and the grandsons even got him to play video games. He enjoyed bike rallies and the outdoors. He loved to cut and haul wood with his son-in-law. He liked to watch western shows.
    Leroy passed away suddenly at Ringgold County Hospital on October 15, 2013.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Morse; and grandson, Arron.
    Survivors include his children, Christina (Jeff) Dillinger of Diagonal, Iowa, John (fiancé Tanya) Morse of Norwalk, Iowa and Jennifer Morse; grandchildren, Brandon Lawrence, Rosmary Hunt, Quintin Chumbley, Dylan, Justin, Jeremiah, Natausha and Kaylynn Dillinger, Tommy Morse, Hannah Wilson, Ethan Morse, Jaquoir Barrett, Zalina Morse, Jazabella Morse and Jennifer’s children; siblings, Ruby Hull of Redding, Iowa, Marvin Morse of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Ron Morse of Washington state, Nancy (Jerry) Clark of Diagonal, Iowa, Julie Roach of Adel, Iowa, Rick Morse of Essex, Iowa and Bonnie (Frank) Baker of Redding, Iowa; aunt, Arlene Thomson of Savannah, Missouri, and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    Memorials are to the family to be decided later.
    Services were held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Monday, October 21, 2013, with Pastor Ed Shields officiating. Vocalists were Tara Baker, Christina Dillinger, Natausha Dillinger, Tosha Morse and Alexus Shelley.
    Casket bearers included Rick Morse, Ron Morse, Jeff Dillinger, James Richman, John Morse, Quintin Chumbley, Willie Jenson and Lee Boswell.              
    Honorary pallbearers were Rod Holmes, Steve Cox, Tommy Morse, Dylan Dillinger, Donovan Flowers and John Hartsaw.
    Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr.
