DALE ELBERT QUICK
Dale Elbert Quick, 72, of Saint Paul, Minnesota died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Our Lady of Peace Home and Hospice.
He was born to the late Frank Glen and Ella Maude Quick February, 7, 1941 in Redding, Iowa. Dale graduated from Mount Ayr high school in 1959. He enlisted with the United States Army and spent much of the time in Germany.
After being honorably discharged from the Army, he worked at various jobs around Des Moines. He worked for the Bulk Mail Center from where he retired.
Dale was a quiet, hardworking person who was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. He enjoyed his extended family of nieces and nephews and was an ardent fan of the Iowa State Cyclones.
Dale is survived by children JoAnn Quick and David Quick of Woodbury, Minnesota; sisters Mary (John) Overholtzer of Tingley, Iowa and Jean (Ron) Tull of Creston, Iowa, and sister-in-law Jeannette Quick of Creston, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Maude Quick; brothers, Howard and Lyle, and a niece, Patricia Quick.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Our Lady of Peace, 2076 Saint Anthony Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55104.
Services were conducted at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Saturday, November 9, 2013, with Pastor David Rauch officiating. Pianist was Pam Von Hagel.
Casket bearers included John F. Overholtzer, John A. Overholtzer, Ron Tull, Glen Tull, Leslie Rauch and Wendell Akers.
Honorary pallbearers were Roger Quick, Christian Overholtzer, Leland Rauch and Wayne “Herk” Von Hagel.
Burial was in the Redding Cemetery in Redding.
