DARLENE LOUISE BEDIER REASONER

Darlene Louise Bedier Reasoner was born July 20, 1933 to Grover and Arvilla (Zurmuehlen) Bedier. She attended school at Sandcreek County school and Dikon Country school through the eighth grade and went to Murray high school.
One of her favorite things growing up was attending local dances with her father. She married Daughn Reasoner on October 11, 1950 and divorced in 1980. To this union were born three children, Jim, Duane and Debra. They bought the farm north of Ellston in 1954. The tavern “Darlene’s Place” was purchased in January 1976.
Darlene had owned and operated Darlene’s Place for 39 years. She enjoyed talking with people, having the many birthday parties, annual nut fry, live music and karaoke over the years. Her favorite day was card day, playing pitch in back with her friends.
Darlene especially enjoyed her time with special longtime friend Jack England. They enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her grandchildren, and her many friends.
Darlene passed away on March 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Fern, who died at birth, and brother Lloyd (Boots).
Survivors are sons Jim (Jeanette McKinley) and Duane (Deborah); daughter Debra (Ray) Derscheid; grandchildren Jamie (Dan Murphy, Lyndie (Jeremy) Philbrook, Joshua Schaaf, Brian (Amber) Fooken, Kurtis Fooken, Allison (Jeremiah) Swietlik, Sarah and Megan Reasoner, Randy Derscheid and Reggie (Amanda) Derscheid, and great-grandchildren Britney and Landen Philbrook, Trey and Kenleigh Fooken, Eli Swietlik, Raegan Derscheid and Summer and Nick Pasutti.
Graveside services will be held at Ellston Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 with celebration of life following in Ellston at Darlene’s Place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
