ORLIN HENSON

Orlin Henson, 87, of Blockton, passed away June 20, 2014 at the Liberty Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, Missouri. Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 24 at the Blockton Christian Church. Pastor Scott Marcum and Pastor Bill Farrens officiated the service. Open visitation and luncheon followed the memorial service at the Blockton Community Building. Private family burial will be at a later date at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Blockton. Orlin Richard Henson was born August 30, 1926 in Truro, Iowa to Earl Albert Henson and Flossie Fern (Duncan) Henson. He attended school at Blockton, Iowa. On January 8, 1945 Orlin was united in marriage to Deloris Arlene Reitter in St. Joseph, Missouri. They had two sons, Steven and Craig. Orlin was a farmer and bought and sold grain throughout the years until he retired at the age of 54.
Orlin is survived by his son, Steven (wife Neila) Henson of Blockton; two grandsons, Brett (wife Jacqueline) Henson of Olathe, Kansas and Cory Henson of Lenexa, Kansas; one great-grandson, Owen Henson of Olathe, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Deloris in 1997; son Craig in 2009; brother Lester Henson; two sisters, Hazel LeGore and Donna Mae Stewart.
