FRANK “SKINNY” GARNER SAVILLE
Frank G. Saville, 81, Garden City, Missouri died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Golden Living Center Westwood, Clinton, Missouri. Frank was bom November 6, 1932 in Redding, Iowa, a son of Wilbur F. and Mamie (Wallace) Saville.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and spent a year at Ft. Kobbe in Panama. He was united in marriage to Nellie F. Maudlin on April 5, 1953, and to this union three children were bom, Mike, Danny, and Debbie. Frank moved to Harrisonville in 1962. He ran a candy route, and worked at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit before working for the Harrisonville Post Office. He was a postman for sixteen years before his retirement in 1984. He was united in marriage to Cathryn Peek on June 12, 1973 in Harrisonville. Frank moved to Deepwater in 1994 and to Garden City in 2006. He was a Methodist.
Frank was a Mason for over forty years, joining Cass Masonic Lodge #147 in Harrisonville in 1974. He transferred his membership to Lowry City Lodge # 403, and then to Index Masonic Lodge # 54 in Garden City. Frank was an avid outdoorsman, he raised and trained bird dogs, loved to quail hunt and fish. He was a great photographer, and took many family pictures.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Robert and Richard, and two sisters, Dorothy and Hazel. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Saville, of the home; two sons, Michael G. Saville, Iowa, and Danny R. Saville, Versailles, Mo; four Step-sons, Richard D. Madden, Pella, Iowa, Elvon “Butch” Moses, Harrisonville, Albert Moses, Harrisonville, and Russell “Rusty” Walker, Harrisonville; daughter, Debra Ann Shemeling, Des Moines, lA; step-daughter, Vickie L. Winter, Garden City, MO; sister, Mary F. Calvin, Clarinda, lA; brother- in-law, Sam Stephens; two sister-in-laws, Ruth Saville, and Jackie Saville; and many grandchildren and many greatgrandchildren.
Funeral service was Saturday, July 12 at the Masonic Index Lodge #403 in Harrisonville, Missouri with Rev. Richard Williams officiating. Casketbearers were Joel Moses, Seth Moses, John Michael Winter, Eric Beasley, John Ortis and Chad Rohlf.
Interment with military honors was at the Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri with the Harrisonville Honor Guard and “MIKE” Army Honor Guard.
