BESSIE OPAL HAGANS-LINE

    Bessie Opal Hagans-Line was born in Hopeville, Iowa, December 14, 1911, as Bessie Opal Williamson, to Margaret and William Williamson. She met her husband Claude Hagans in Mount Ayr, Iowa and the two married. They soon moved to Stockton, California and resided here ever since. They had three daughters Betty, Patricia and Claudia Kay. Bessie worked for Stockton State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician/LVN for several years until she retired. She enjoyed her family, camping, traveling, gambling and the Raiders.
    After the passing of her first husband, Claude, Bessie was remarried to James Line. Bessie has one surviving daughter, Claudia Kay Duncan (Robert), and two step-children, Anita and Jack Line. She also has six grandchildren, Michael, Sheri, Allen, Rick, Terrie and Kathy, 18 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
    Bessie’s two husbands, Claude Hagans and James Line, two daughters Betty Tomasi and Patricia Smith, step-daughter, Maryann Hatch, a sister, Jeanne Ann Herzog, a brother Merril Wlliamson and two grandsons, Daniel Craven and Ronald Wood all who preceded her in death. Bessie lived a full life for over 102 years. She lived for the past two years with her grandson and granddaughter, Allen and Gloria, who took wonderful care of her until her passing. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love. She was a outstanding matriarch of our family and she will be truly missed.
    Memorial service were held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, CA and Celebration of Life followed service at Bel Air Mobile Home Park Club House, 5835 Cherokee Rd., Stockton, CA.
