PERMELIA ANN FLETCHALL

PERMELIA ANN FLETCHALL

Permelia Ann Fletchall was born October 9, 1920 to Rolley and Anna (Wilson) Eslinger. She passed away August 1, 2014 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the age of 93.
Permelia was baptized in the Assembly of God Church at an early age. She married Roland Fletchall on January 3, 1946 in Troy, Kansas. She helped him haul cattle and fed many bucket calves over the years. Permelia babysat many children through the years. She always had someone play Santa at Christmas time for the children. She loved to garden and cook. She enjoyed preparing big Sunday dinners for her family. She made homemade cinnamon rolls and ice cream often. Phyllis still uses the recipe for mom’s homemade ice cream today. Permelia also loved the Opry and taking a carload of ladies with her to enjoy it. Another of her favorite pastimes was taking pictures of people and sharing them with others.
During Permelia’s time in the nursing home she couldn’t always remember the names of the workers so she would just say “Hey Lady”. At Christmas time they had a gift exchange and the person who drew her name had a purple sweatshirt made with “Hey Lady” on the front of it.
Permelia was preceded in death by her husband Roland in 1975, parents; three sons: Terry, Ed and Fred Fletchall, one daughter: Frieda Williams; four brothers: George, John, Harvey and Harrison Eslinger; and two sisters: Mary and Ruth.
Surviving are children: Charlie (Judy) Fletchall of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Rex (Linda) Fletchall of Eugene, Oregon; Phyllis (Mike) Olszewski of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Dwayne (special friend, Margaret) Fletchall of Heuvelton, New York; and Jess (Ruth Ann) Fletchall of Yukon, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Pastor Mike Maddy  officiated. Interment was in the Fletchall Cemetery near Grant City.
