LINDA F. KING

    Linda F. King, daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Turner) Joe, was born January 5, 1948 in Independence, Missouri.  Linda grew up in Saint Joseph, Missouri. She married Larry King on August 20, 1966 in Grant City, Missouri. Together they had a child, Kelly Sue King, who passed away before the age of 3. Linda and Larry were a trucking team for 30 years, traveling in all the lower 48 states. Mount Ayr has been their home since 1975. Linda liked western dancing and listening to the country western music. She worked as a cook and waitress at Smalls Coral and Clearview Homes in Mount Ayr.
Linda passed away September 4, 2014 in Mount Ayr following a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry in 2002; daughter Kelly Sue King at age 3; and step-daughter Debbie Shock.
    Survivors include her brothers John (Nancy) Joe of Stewartsville, Missouri and Jerry (Brenda) Joe of Maryville, Missouri; sister Sharon (Bud) Pendleton of Savannah, Missouri; nieces, nephews and friends.
    Services were held Monday, September 8, 2014 at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Reverend Terry Roberts officiating.
    Casketbearers were Todd Joe, Chris Joe, Mike Swank, Jason Pendleton, Matt Swank, Shane Swank and Mitchel Swank.         Honorary pallbearers were Sharon and Bud Pendleton, John and Nancy Joe, Jerry and Brenda Joe, Larry and Jane Christensen, Don and Joan Stringham and Malinda Swank.
    Burial was in the Payne Cemetery-Lone Rock Church in Hatfield, Missouri.
    A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later.
