LARRY LEE GRACE

    Larry Lee Grace, son of Lawrence Russell and Lois Marie (Hutchinson) Grace, was born at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr on June 26, 1961. Larry grew up at Diagonal and graduated from Diagonal High School in 1979.
    Larry worked road construction all of his life. He was a concrete paver for the last several years and he traveled all over the Midwest. In addition, he did some farming on the side. He enjoyed his niece, nephews, and was proud of his three great nieces. Larry liked to barter and enjoyed finding a good deal at auctions.
    Larry fought a courageous battle with cancer for the last four years and he passed away December 17, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Grace; grandparents Ora and Frances Grace and Robert and Florence Hutchinson.
    Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Lois Grace of Diagonal; brother Robert (Pam) Grace of Diagonal; sisters Virginia (Dan) Greubel of Des Moines, IA and Brenda (Derald) Schaefer of Diagonal; seven nieces and nephews Jeremy Grace, Steven Grace, Jason Greubel, Allison Ranallo, Jeff Schaefer, Andrew Schaefer, Zack Schaefer; three great-nieces Rylee Grace, Avery Grace, and Claire Grace; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
    Services were held Friday, December 19, 2014 with Pastor Bill Armstong officiating.
    Casketbearers were Mike Bailey, Danny Rinehart, JP Whittington, Justin Kuonen, Claire Newton and Rick Wiley.
    Honorary pallbearers included Jack Carson, Charlie Fletcher, John Whittington and Junior Lopez.
    Burial was in the Diagonal Cemetery.
