BERNADINE LYDIA MCBRIDE

Bernadine Lydia McBride of Mount Ayr, Iowa passed away at Mount Ayr Health Care Center in Mount Ayr, Iowa on November 10, 2018.
Bernadine was born September 2, 1921 in Logan, Iowa to Henry and Nina Putney. In her earlier years, she worked in several bakeries in Des Moines, Iowa while raising her children. On May 12, 1962 Bernadine married Leo McBride. Together, they made their home on a farm in rural Mount Ayr, Iowa. Bernadine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she adored her family more than anything.
Left to cherish Bernadine’s memory are her children; Lester (Lois) Robertson of Des Moines, Iowa, Jerry Laws of Victorville, California and Joan (Mike) Dugan of Mount Ayr, Iowa. Grandchildren; Kim (Tony) Oaks of Runnells, Iowa, Matthew (Sandy) Robertson of Eugene, Oregon, Chris Wearmouth of Adel, Iowa, Andy (Dawn) Dugan of Kellerton, Iowa, Dennis (Nina) Dugan of Mount Ayr and Michelle (Weston) Lucht of Perry Iowa. Great-grandchildren; Jesse, Mike, Josh, Dylan, Kade, Tate, Karson, Isac and Lillian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo, son, Jack, daughter-in-law, Karen, several brothers and sisters.
A memorial fund has been established for a scholarship in her memory at the Mount Ayr Community High School.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa . Services will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Officiating will be Pastor Darin Dolecheck.
Songs will be “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and “Beyond The Sunset”.
Casketbearers will be Steve Taylor, John Campbell, John Whittington, JP Whittington, Clint Whittington and Jeff Sickels.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kade Dugan, Karson Dugan, Tate Dugan, Isac Dugan, Lilly Lucht, Kim Oaks, Matt Robertson and Chris Wearmouth.
Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery at Benton, Iowa.
