Johnny Ray Roberts, Sr. 61, Coffey, MO (formerly of Mount Ayr, IA) passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
He was born May 17, 1959 in Arizona. He is the son of Shirley Sue (Sickels) Karr. His family lived in Mount Ayr a short time before moving to the farm south of Mount Ayr. John graduated from Mount Ayr High School.
On June 5, 1980, he married Rosemary (Estes) Roberts in Redding, IA. In this union they have two children, Jodie (Paul) Clair, Coffey, MO and Johnny Ray Roberts Jr. (deceased) and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Roberts (Florida).
John had worked at multiples type of jobs throughout the years. He was a member of the Coffey Baptist Church, Coffey, MO.
Let to cherish his life is a daughter, Jodie (Paul) Clair, Coffey, MO; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Roberts, Florida; his siblings, Gerry (Ross) King of Mount Ayr, Gene (Janice) Karr of Union Star, MO and Danny (Brenda) Karr of Mount Ayr; Corwin Karr, Jr. of Mount Ayr, Charletta Pickering of Grant City, MO and Randy Karr of Colorado; sisters-in-law, Kim (Rick) Ray, Corning, IA, Karen (Bob) Christensen, Diagonal, IA, Irene Enarson, Creston, IA and Judy Blackburn, Creston, IA; brother-in-law, David A. Estes Jr., Tingley, IA; five grandchildren, Kylana, Kieara and Kaden Clair, Coffey, MO and Lacee Abner, Hamilton, MO and Leo Roberts of Florida, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and many others that called him Dad and Grandpa.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (2012), son, Johnny Ray Roberts, Jr. (2008), his mother Shirley (2014), sister, Valerie Fletchall (2018). niece, Donna Karr, his father-in-law, David Estes (1994) and mother-in-law, Joyce Estes (2015) and two nephews, Cory Estes (1994) and Colby Clark (1994).
Cremation has been provided by Bethany Memorial Chapel. Private inurnment at a later date in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Redding, IA.
Memorials may be directed to his daughter, Jodie Clair.
