The Raiderettes had a busy week, traveling to Bedford before hosting the first day of the Raiderette Softball Classic then traveling to Southeast Warren, Central Decatur and then hosting a day full of softball on Saturday with the second day of the Raiderette Classic.

The Raiderettes made quick work of the Bulldogs last Tuesday night, defeating them 15-0 after three innings.
The Raiderette bats were swinging precise and angry, putting up nine runs in the top of the first, which was helped along by a two-run homer by Channler Henle and six in the top of the second with a three-run homer run off the bat of Addy Reynolds.
Reynolds took to the circle against the Bulldogs, walking two, while allowing two hits and striking out two.
Mount Ayr played a clean game, with no errors and nine putouts.
As a team, the Raiderettes recorded 13 hits in 23 at-bats and 14 RBI, while reaching on error three times.
“We are hitting angry, there’s a lot of frustration” said coach Bret Ruggles. “We’ve had a lot of times where we’ve lost some games, some maybe we shouldn’t have, but most of them have been against really good, ranked, teams.”
The win put the Raiderettes at .500 and saw players find success that had struggled recently.
“We’ve finally had two nights where our offense just clicked” said coach Ruggles. “MaKayla Jones is getting better and better at second base and I am loving her improvement as the year goes on and Alexa (Anderson) has been picking up the RBI’s which is what we’ve been dying for her to do.”
