Man with Mount Ayr address charged with murder

James Shiloh Klever, 46, of rural Mount Ayr has been charged with Murder 1st for the death and disappearance of Rachel Reuter, 30, of Cassville, WI.
[While Klever’s current address is listed as 1953 310th Street Mount Ayr, Klever has been associated with that address only since July 2020. Over the past six years his addresses have included Anamosa, Osceola, Van Wert, Lamoni, and Colorado.]
Reuter was originally reported missing by her father to the Urbandale Police Department June 16. The Urbandale Police Department requested assistance from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation and both agencies worked conjointly to investigate the reported missing person. Evidence in the case eventually led investigators to a residence in Bondurant. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and began to assist with the case.
Information and evidence gathered shifted this incident from a missing person to a homicide investigation. Investigators believe that during the early morning hours of June 13, Klever killed Reuter at the Bondruant residence, although her remains have not been located.
According to the case’s criminal complaint obtained by Oxygen.com, Klever ultimately admitted to killing Reuter, He told detectives he beat her to death with a baseball bat.
According to multiple sources, Klever, who was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, is being held in the Polk County Jail on $1 million bond.
