The Raider wrestlers have been busy on the mats as they dive into the 2021-22 season.
East Mills
Mount Ayr traveled to East Mills in their first matchup this season where they faced Clarke, East Mills, Shenandoah and Southwest Valley.
In the meet, the Raiders were 1-3, beating out East Mills 25-24 as a team.
In the duals, Mount Ayr’s Jaydon Knight defeated Jack Gordon by fall in one minute while Tucker Larson was defeated by East Mills Wyatt Franks and Jayden Levy fell to East Mills Andrew Laramy.

Against Clarke, the Raiders saw Jaydon Knight take the win by fall over Mason Fry at 170 pound for the Raiders only win of the night.
Mount Ayr’s Tucker Larson fell to Cole Binning, while Braydon Swietlik fell to Tyler Binning.
Jayden Levy fell to Ethan Domina.
Clarke defeated the Raiders 48-18.
Against Shenandoah, the Raiders fell 46-18.
Jaydon Knight had a hard fought battle at 170 pounds with Jayden Dickerson.
The match went 5:28 before Knight got the win by fall.
Braydon Swietlik went 4:47 before getting the win by fall over Ethan Richardson.
Tucker Larson fell to Logan Dickerson and Jayden Levy fell to Cole Scamman.
Preston Fleharty fell to Owen Laughlin by major decision, 14-2.
Against Southwest Valley, the Raiders fell 48-12, as a team.
Preston Fleharty won by fall over Eli Rodriquez in 2:35 at the 145 pound weight class for the Raiders only win of the night against the Timberwolves.
Tucker Larson fell to Colin Jacobs and Jayden Levy fell to Jonathon Weatherly.
Coach Riley Invitational
Next up for the Raiders was the Coach Riley Invitational in Greenfield.
The Raiders saw Brock Shaha defeat Aiden Akers of AHSTW by fall in the 106 quarterfinals before falling to Kaden Whipp of Clarinda by fall in the semifinals.
In the Consolation round, Shaha defeated Dane Guillion of Knoxville by fall before taking third place, defeating Pleasantville’s Jesse Smith by fall.
Jayden Levy fell to Luke Spaur, of Knoxville, as well as Southwest Valley’s Ian Forsythe in the 132 pound bracket.
At 145 pounds, the Raiders saw Preston Fleharty fall to Knoxville’s Chaz Graves. Fleharty then lost out to Carson Rieck of Creston/O-M by a 3-0 decision.
At 170 pounds, Jaydon Knight took first place after defeating Clarke’s Mason Fry and Gavin Montalvo of Knoxcille.
In the first place bracket, Knight defeated Clarinda’s Karson Downey.
At 195 pounds, Tucker Larson fell to Jase Wilmes, of Clarinda, before falling to Xavier Adamson of Bedford/Lenox.
At 220, Braydon Swietlik fell to Dawson Marshall, of Bedford/Lenox before defeating Nodaway Valley’s Charles Rudolf and Creston/O-M’s Quinten Fuller.
Dan Christensen Invitational
The Raiders traveled to Leon on December 10 where they participated in the Dan Christensen Invitational.
At 106 pounds, Brock Shaha fell to Albia’s Logan Wingett before getting a win over Mid-Buchanan’s Grant Schuster.
In the third round of consolation, Shaha fell to Wyatt Stewart of Albia.
In the fifth place matchup, Shaha fell to Albia’s Logan Wingett once more, this time by an 8-1 decision.
Jayden Levy fell to Logan Carter and Christian Choate to end his tournament.
Jaydon Knight defeated Odin Rivera of Central Decatur before taking the win over Logan Wearmouth and Sam Hash to find himself in the first place match.
Knight lost out to Trevor Summers of Ottumwa by a 7-1 decision.
Tucker Larson fell to Daniel Robert, of Ottumwa and Nate Ballard of Albia.
Braydon Swietlik saw a win over Winterset’s Jaydn Cooper by a 7-3 decision before falling to Central Decatur’s Tegan Carson.
In the consolation semifinals, Owen Stockbauer of Mid-Buchanan, defeated Swietlik.
Jaydn Cooper was able to get his revenge over Swietlik in the fifth place match, winning in a major decision 9-0.
Mount Ayr
In Mount Ayr the Raiders were 1-2 on the night as a team, falling to East Union 41-24, Nodaway Valley 60-18 and defeating Wayne 36-18.
Against East Union, Preston Fleharty fell to Damon Hayes by fall.
Jaydon Knight defeating Shane Lear by fall.
Tucker Larson fell to Terrian Islas and Jayden Levy fell to DJ Islas.
In the win over Wayne, the Raiders saw Preston Fleharty defeated Jace Pipes by fall and Braydon Swietlik defeated Cutler Buban by fall.
Mount Ayr’s Ayden Miller fell to Chad Kent.
Against Nodaway Valley, the Raiders saw Jayden Levy fall to Zackery Gebbe, Preston Fleharty fall to Jaxon Christensen, Tucker Larson fall to Caelen DeVault and Ayden Miller fall to Trenton Warner.
Jaydon Knight had the Raiders lone win of the night, defeating Brandon Raasch by fall.
