The Raider wrestlers traveled to Corning for the John J. Harris wrestling tournament.
The Raiders finished 18th overall, out of 25, with 35 points.
Throughout the two-day tournament, the Raiders fielded Brock Shaha at 106 pounds, Jaydon Knight at 170 pounds, Keaton White at 182 pounds, Tucker Larson at 195 pounds and Braydon Swietlik at 220 pounds.
Shaha met Brad Orther of Missouri Valley in the quarterfinals where he won by a 5-1 decision before falling to Atlantic’s Aiden Smith by a technical fall after 3:39.
Shaha lost out in the fifth place matchup to Riverside’s Davis Bramman by a 7-2 decision.
Knight defeated Nic Swalla of Earlham in a 7-1 decision in the quarterfinal round before falling to Kolby Scott of MCAOCOU by a 10-9 sudden victory. in the semifinals.
Knight found his way back in the win column with a win over Bradlee Grantz of Southwest Valley in the consolation round. Knight defeated Shane Sinclair of Missouri Valley in the championship round two before falling to Nic Swalla in the third place matchup.
Keaton White fell to Missouri Valley’s Gage Clausen by fall after a long 5:04.
White then defeated Dakota Miner of Red Oak by fall in 1:42 in the first consolation round.
White then defeated Creston’s Ty Morrison by a 9-4 decision before falling to Bedford/Lenox’s Jake Cox by a 5-1 decision in the consolation round three.
Tucker Larson fell to Adam Mitchell by fall in 1:21 and Sam Fields by fall in 2:41.
Swietlik defeated Dalton Clakins by 7-5 decisions before defeating Kadin Bonham of Missouri Valley by fall in 5:48.
Swietlik fell to Miles Mundorf by fall in 5:32 before falling in the fifth place match to Samuel Daly 4-2.
The team battles saw Creston, Atlantic and Winterset in the top three.
Creston took first overall, edging out Atlantic, with 212 points, while Atlantic scored 210.
Winterset scored 163 to take third, followed by Clarinda with 117.
In fifth place was Bedford/Lenox with 96.
Riverside, Oakland scored 92.5 to take sixth place followed by Nodaway Valley and Missouri Valley in seventh and eighth with 84 and 82 points, respectively.
ACGC finished ninth with 63.5 points, with Earlham in 10th with 63.
Southwest Valley finished 11th with 58.5 points and Red Oak took 12th with 54.5.
Panorama finished 13th with 53 points, while Central Decatur took 14th with 47 and MVAOCOU finished 15th with 43 points.
Clarke finished 16th with 40.5 points, Shenandoah finished 17th with 38 points and Mount Ayr came in 18th with 35.
In 19th was Tri-Center Neola with 34 points and Southwest Iowa finished 20th with 32.5 points and Denison finished 21st with 32 points and East Mills came in 22nd with 26 points.
Griswold finished 23rd with 6 points, Des Moines North – Hoover finished in 24th with two points and Wayne closed out the tournament in 25th with one point.
