The aftermath of a car running into the Dari Sweet on Hwy 2 Thursday evening.
An out-of-control vehicle caused damage to a Mount Ayr business establishment Thursday, March 10.
According to the report from the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 3:30 p.m., 33-year-old Ben Graham of Mount Ayr was driving a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer eastbound on Highway 2.
While attempting to manually adjust the passenger side mirror, Graham lost control of the vehicle. It entered the Dari Sweet parking lot, striking the drive-up window area of the building. The vehicle continued eastward, hitting a pole before coming to rest in the yard of the former Jehovah Witness church building.
There is an estimated $25,000 in damage to the Dari Sweet building.
The business had been scheduled to open for the summer season Monday, March 28.
Dari Sweet owner Peggy Overholser reported the accident will now delay the opening of the business indefinitely.
