Raider golf secures two home wins

Triangular
Mount Ayr Raider and Raiderette golf got their seasons underway last Friday at home in a triangular with Southeast Warren and Martensdale-St. Marys.
It was an almost perfect day to hit the links and the home course played in the favor of the home team, both taking first place.
Raiderettes
As a team, the Raiderettes combined for a score of 233, while Martensdale-St. Marys shot a 254 and Southeast Warren finished with 320.
The Raiderettes were led by Mallory Weehler who shot a 55 after nine holes.
Linsie Barnes finished second with a 58, tying with Martensdale-St. Marys Carly Franey.
Olivia Huntington shot a 59 to round out the Raiderettes under 60.
Kamryn Willis shot a 61, Alana Doolittle shot a 71 and Ayla Murphy shot an 80.
Raiders
As a team, the Raiders combined for a score of 185, while Southeast Warren took second, shooting a 242 and Martensdale-St. Marys shot a 257.
Mount Ayr had four golfers under 50, with Dylan Graham leading all golfers, shooting a 44.
Tanner Streit was second on the team with a 46, while Louden Main shot a 47 and Jackson Greene shot a 48.
Trevin Victor shot a 51 and Keye Willis finished with a 52.
Quad
The Mount Ayr golf teams hosted a quad meet on Monday, April 10 against Southeast Warren, Martensdale-St. Marys and Nodaway Valley.
Raiderettes
The Raiderettes finished third overall, shooting a 241, while Nodaway Valley finished first with a 225 and Martensdale-St. Marys took second with a close 229.
Southeast Warren did not have enough girls for a team score.
The top golfer on the night was Ashlyn Gutierrez of Nodaway Valley who shot a 50.
Carly Franey of Martensdale-St. Marys was runner-up with a 52.
Leading the Raiderettes was Mallory Weehler, shooting a 57, while Linsie Barnes finished the night with a 59.
Kamryn Willis shot a 62, Olvia Huntington shot 63 and Alana Doolittle finished the night with a 67.
Ayla Murphy closed the night with a 79.
Raiders
The Raiders had a great night on the links, with four golfers under 50 and a tie for first as the team shot a 172 to take the meet victory.
Nodaway Valley combined for a 186 to take second, Southeast Warren shot a 226 for third and Martensdale-St. Marys was fourth with a 249.
Medaling was Tanner Streit with a 41 and runner-up with Dylan Graham, also with a 41.
Jackson Greene was one stroke off of a three-way tie, shooting a 42.
Louden Main was the only other Raider in the 40s, shooting a 48, while Trevin Victor was just on the edge with a 50 and Keye Willis shot a 59 to round out the Raider score.
