Chandra Poore
Chandra Poore won the special election Tuesday to serve out a term on the Mount Ayr City Council, defeating Warren Angus.. The opening occurred when councilman Jordan Stewart moved outside the city limits. Poore will will serve until the current terms ends in November.
According to Commissioner of Elections Amanda Waske, 310 people voted in the election, a 20 % voter turnout. Poore won the election with 266 votes to 44 votes for Angus in the unofficial results.
“I’m super excited to serve Mount Ayr and very thankful to those that turned out,” said Poore.
