Fall sports are about to be in full swing which means it is time for some pre-season outlooks. Lots of new faces for Raiderettes
The Raiderette volleyball team is ready to take the floor beside Kristen Graham, the team’s third year coach but this season will take on the solo head coach position for the first time.
The coaching staff does not stop there for this young Raiderette team, as they will also have assistant coaches Hannah Dentlinger and Chelsey Daily alongside them this fall.
The Raiderettes finished their 2022-23 season in the sixth spot in the Pride of Iowa Conference last fall with a record of 2-4 in the conference and with an overall season record of 9-15.
The squad had plenty of experience on its roster last year as it graduated seniors Tegan Striet, Linsie Barnes, Kacee Klommhaus and Kaylie Shields, leaving the team to look at incoming seniors Hayden Ruggles and Abby Eaton and incoming juniors Breya Nickle and Olivia Huntington, who are all letter winners from last season, to fill some big shoes.
When looking at incoming prospects, head coach Kristen Graham emphasized that the team will consist of many new prospects and that she, Dentlinger and Daily are exited to see how the team will come together in the upcoming weeks.
“We are working to be fundamentally strong, cohesive through adversity, confident in every aspect of the game.” said Graham.
We are striving to be aggressive at all times so that we can maintain a competitive atmosphere and be successful in all we do.”
Coach Graham has high hopes for her young team on the court this fall as she is looking to be in the top running for the Pride of Iowa conference this season.
