The Mount Ayr and Diagonal cross country teams traveled to Leon last Saturday for their only meet of the week.
There, the Raider boys placed fourth and the Raiderettes placed second.
The Raiders ran at the Pleasantville Trojan Invitational on Monday and traveled to Truro on Thursday, September 14 to run at the Interstate-35 Invitational.
On the girl’s side, Mount Ayr had a great meet, running to a runner-up finish to the meet winners, Central Decatur, scoring 42 points.
The Raiderettes had a pair of top-10 finishers and four more runners placed in the top-15.
Anne Netwon was the top Mount Ayr runner to finish the race, running to a fifth-place finish in a time of 22:30. After Newton, Aubree Clark placed ninth in a time of 24:14. Ava England placed 11th, Ashlyn Byer 12th, Kacie Larsen 13th, and Addison Doolittle 15th.
Other Raiderette finishers were MaKel Jones 19th and Lillian Fuller 24th.
On the boy’s side, Mount Ayr placed fourth with 96 points.
The top Raider finisher was Braylon Greenwell in 14th place in 20:27. Tegan Hill and Samuel Hudson placed 21st and 25th to give the Raiders two more top-25 finishers.
Other Raider finishers were Michael Adkisson 28th and Carter Levine 35th. Clarke of Osceola won the meet with 28 points while Wayne was second with 37 points.
The Diagonal Maroons also were at the meet and took three runners to compete. There, Owen Whittington placed in the top-10 with a ninth-place finish in 19:06.
Other Maroon finishers were Jace Lamb 31st, and EJ Allee 37th.
Diagonal will run at the Southwest Valley meet at Lake Icaria on Thursday and at the Creston Panther Invitational on September 19.
