Raiderettes place 4th at State Qualifying Meet

The Mount Ayr Raiderette cross-country team placed one spot in the final team standings from qualifying for the state meet.
Mount Ayr placed fourth with 118 points with the top-3 teams advancing to this week’s state meet in Fort Dodge. Earlham won the meet with a team score of 41 followed by meet runner-up AHSTW with 50 points. Grand View Christian was third with 56 points.
Earlham teammates Olivia Spurling and Mackenzie Harger were 1-2 in the individual race in times of 19:42 and 20:33. Hannah Wilson from Fremont Mills was third in 20:53.
Mount Ayr was led by Anne Newton with a 12th place finish in 22:29. Ava England placed 29th to give the Raiderettes two, top-30 finishers. England finished in 24:25. Other Mount Ayr finishers were Addison Doolittle 31st in 24:32, Aubree Clark 35th in 25:12, Ashlyn Byer 39th in 26:12, and MaKel Jones 49th in 28:33.
