Dominating start for Raiders boy’s golf team

The defending POI boy’s champs began their spring 2024 season with a bang last Thursday at home.
There, the Raiders dominated the scores at a home triangular that featured three Pride of Iowa Conference schools.
The Raiders shot a team score of 170 with all of their scores from the six in the lineup under a score of 50.
SE Warren was the meet runner-up with a score of 206 while Martensdale-St. Mary’s was third with a score of 251.

Tanner Streit (pictured right) was a medalist and Dylan Graham (pictured left) was runner up at the SEW / MSM Golf Triangular on Thursday, April 4 at the Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club. Jaylee Shaffer (pictured middle) was medalist for the girls team.
Tanner Streit was the meet medalist with a score of 41. Streit hit par on five of the nine holes at the meet and shot one-over par on two others.
Dylan Graham was the runner-up medalist. Graham shot one-over par on five holes, par on one hole, and shot a birdie on hole seven.
Other Mount Ayr scores were Jaxson Greene 44, Trevin Victor 44, Louden Main 46, and Avery Wolfe 49.
SE Warren was led by Austin Ledlie with a score of 49 and Martensdale-St. Mary’s was led by Alex Martin with a score of 53.
The Mount Ayr junior varsity also were in action at the meet.
The Raiders JV team had a score of 212 points. Two were under 50 with their scores as Keye Willis led with a 48 and Jaxsen Walter had a 49. Other scores were Tytan Gourley 56, Carter Levine 59, Birk Willis 60, and Calvin Main 70.
The Raiders have a busy week with four meets this week. Three are at home. Monday the Raiders hosted SE Warren, Martensdale-St. Mary’s and Nodaway Valley. Tuesday, the Raiders welcomed in Wayne and Melcher-Dallas. Thursday, Mount Ayr will face two POI schools in a triangular as Central Decatur and Martensdale-St. Mary’s are in town. Friday, the Raiders play in their first invitational this season at Lenox.
