The Mount Ayr track program hosted the 2024 Pride of Iowa Conference championship meet last week, and it was quite a show.
The Raiderettes placed third and had two event wins at the meet.
Mount Ayr placed third with 97 team points behind meet champion Wayne who won with 126 points and runner-up Nodaway Valley who scored 112 points. Central Decatur placed fourth with 93.5 points.
Mount Ayr won two events at the conference meet and collected nine season-best times.

Aubree Shields won the high jump with a season-best jump of 5-feet, 3 inches. Also winning was the Raiderettes 4×400-meter relay team in 4:22.57 with the team of Anne Newton, Tatum Friedrich, Aubree Clark, and Ashlyn Murphy.

The Raiderettes were second in the shuttle hurdle relay and the 4×800-meter relay. The 4×8 team of Tatum Friedrich, Ava England, Keely Wasteney, and Ashlyn Murphy was second in 11:17.86. The shuttle hurdle relay team turned in a season-best time in their runner-up finish in 1:14.97 with the team of Dannie Stewart, MaKel Jones, Breya Nickle, and Aubree Shields.

The Raiderettes turned in season-best times in both of the medley relay events. The distance medley relay team of Brittlyn Nickle, Kyleigh Conklin, Abby Eaton, and Anne Newton place third in 4:43.73. The sprint medley relay team of Brittlyn Nickle, Aubree Clark, Jaxy Knight, and Anne Newton placed fifth in 2:02.17.

Hayden Ruggles placed fifth in the shot put and sixth in the discus. Dannie Stewart and MaKel Jones placed eighth and ninth in the long jump. Jalyn Akers also had a top-10 finish in the shot put, placing ninth.
Aubree Shields had two top-5 finishes in individual events.
Shields was the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:13.53 and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.10.
Anne Newton had a season-best time in the 800-meter run in 2:35.43 and MaKel Jones had a season-best time in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:17.25.

Addison Doolittle and Dannie Stewart placed seventh in the 800-meter run and the 3,000-meter run. Doolittle’s time was a season-best in 2:35.43 and Stewart’s time was also a season-best in 18.02.

Tatum Friedrich added a season-best time in the 800-meter run and placed ninth. Other top-10 Mount Ayr finishes came from Jaxy Knight in the 100-meter dash, Ashlyn Murphy and Aubree Clark in the 400-meter dash, Ashlyn Byer in the 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter run and Doolittle in the 1,500-meter run.
The Raiderettes also finished in the top-10 in the 4X200 and the 4X100-meter relay events.
