Ringgold Outdoor Alliance (ROA) is preparing to host their annual banquet on Saturday, September 21 at the Mount Ayr Legion starting at 5 p.m.
The banquet is the main source of income for the local non-profit organization.
Since they were established in 2008, they have made monetary contributions towards community parks, participated in community events by providing a sound system and announcers, offered hay rack rides, and other support.
Additionally, they sponsor yearly fishing tournaments and an annual haunted house known as “Nightmare on Madison Street.”
Other special events hosted by the organization have included a valentine’s dance, car shows, and the Raider Fall Festival.
They also built and rent out a mid-size community building complete with a refrigerator, stove and microwave for other organizations, family reunions, anniversaries and other functions.
Organization members believe that rural and small town living is a way of life worthy of being promoted and preserved through grass root efforts.
Their mission is to promote Ringgold County outdoor activities and projects, which stimulate economic development and encourage family and community fellowship.
Tickets will be available at the door for $35, or couples can enjoy the evening for $45. Children over age 10 can join the fun for $12, and all children under 10 years of age are free.
Games, raffle tickets and a meal will be offered from 5-7 p.m.
A live auction and announcement of raffle items begins at 7 p.m.
