The Mount Ayr boy’s cross-country team traveled to Leon last Monday to run at the Central Decatur invitational. There, two Raiders finished in the top-20 places to help the Raider team place sixth.
Braylon Greenwell led Mount Ayr with a 12th place finish in 19:59 while Jeremiah Gilliland placed 20th in a time of 21:23. The Raiders will run again on Thursday at the Interstate-35 Invitational.
Chariton won the meet with 19 team points by placing all six runners in the top-10 finishers including the top-4 spots. The Chargers are ranked No. 9 in Class 2A and were led by overall winner Lucas Anderson who won the race in 16:56. His teammate Brent Crabb was second in 16:56.51. Clarke was the runner-up team with 72 team points. Central Decatur placed third with 99 team points.
Other Mount Ayr finishes were from Tegan Hill in 32nd, Michael Adkisson in 44th, and Rolland Adkisson in 57th place. There were 69 runners in the boy’s race.
