Mount Ayr runs at Interstate-35
The Mount Ayr cross-country teams traveled to Truro last Thursday to run in the Interstate-35 invitational.
Neither team had enough runners to score in the team race.
In the boy’s race, Interstate-35 won the meet with a team score of 37 points. Clarke was second with 53 and Creston was third with 67. Clarke’s Devante Caldwell won the boy’s race in a time of 19:19 while Korey Kirkpatrick from Interstate-35 was the runner-up with a time of 19:41.
Mount Ayr was led by Braylon Greenwell with a 13th place finish in 22:01. Other Raider finishes were Michael Adkisson 29th and Rolland Adkisson 48th.
On the girl’s side, there was quite a race for the team title.
The host Roadrunners held off Creston in the final standings. I-35 won the meet with a team score of 30, while the Panthers were the runners-up with a team score of 31. Kaleigh Harvey from SE Warren was the overall girl’s winner in a time of 22:32. Creston’s Cora Smith was the runner-up in a time of 22:53.
Mount Ayr had two runners at the meet, both placing in the top-20. Ryley Greenwell placed 15th in 26:55 and Ashlynn Byer placed 16th in 27:06.
