A pair of Mount Ayr volleyball players were recently named to the Class 1A South Central All-District team. They were Aubree Shields and Jaxy Knight.
Shaffer led Mount Ayr in assists with 345 this year. She also had 27 kills on 138 attacks, 156 digs, and served 276-for-288 with 30 aces.
Shields led Mount Ayr with 297 kills on 720 attacks this year. Shields also had 287 digs and served 225-for-264 with 34 aces. Knight led the Raiderettes in digs with 356 and served 197-for-245 with 29 aces. She also had 20 kills in 88 attack attempts.
The Raiderettes finished the season 17-17 overall. The 17 wins were the most since the 2017 season when Mount Ayr won 20 matches.
