The Mount Ayr boy’s wrestling program had a great weekend, as the annual Ron Scott duals were held last Friday and Saturday.

The Raiders as a team won three duals at the two-day event, all Pride of Iowa Conference teams. Mount Ayr beat East Union 40-36, SW Valley 42-35, and Central Decatur 46-30. Other losses were to Cameron, Missouri 66-18, Shenandoah 53-18, and Durant 40-33.

Individually, Mount Ayr had ten wrestlers win at least one match at the duals. Three Raiders won seven matches and seven of the ten wrestlers won at least four matches. Winning seven matches were Brock Shaha at 120, Bryson Martin at 126, and Bracken Collier at 175. Others winning four or more matches were Weston Adams winning five matches at 106 and Nathan Roemer, Cordell Clemens, and Tegan Hill winning four matches at 132, 215, and 157. Tate Schaefer won three matches at 144 and Nathan Mederos won a pair of matches at 150. Austin Briner also won a match at 175.
Mount Ayr is back in action this week at the John J. Harris Invitational in Corning. After that, the Raiders have a dual meet on January 27 against West Central Valley and Lenox.
Currently, after the last week of competition, Brock Shaha has the most wins with 31 and pins with 22. Bryson Martin has 28 wins and 15 pins and Weston Adams has 20 wins and 9 pins. Others with more than 10 wins are Nathan Roemer, Cordell Clemens, Bracken Collier, Nathan Mederos, Tegan Hill, Tatian Freeman, Jeremiah Gilliland, and Tate Schaefer.
