Mount Ayr to attend SWICC All-Star Game
The first annual Southwest Iowa Community College Spartan High School All-Star games will be played this Saturday in Creston.
There will be a boy-girl doubleheader featuring star basketball players from SW Iowa. The event begins at 4 p.m. with the girls game and is followed at 6 p.m. by a boys game.
The Mount Ayr boy’s and girl’s basketball programs will have heavy representation at the event.
Both girl’s head coach Thad Streit and boy’s head coach Bret Ruggles will be coaching teams.
On the girl’s side, Jaxy Knight, Izzy Gilberton, and Breya Nickle will be playing.
On the boy’s side, Jackson Ruggles will be playing.
The four teams will be made up of many familiar names including fellow Pride of Iowa Conference players from Nodaway Valley, Lenox, Central Decatur, SW Valley, and SE Warren. The games will be four, ten-minute quarters and will be played in the SWICC gymnasium.
