The 2025 POI champion Mount Ayr Raiders will play for a bid to the state meet this week. This comes after the Raiders captured a sectional meet championship on Wednesday, May 14 at home. The Raiders won the meet with a team score of 232, winning by a landslide over runner-up East Union, which had 354 points.
The Raiders were led by medalist Dylan Graham, who had a top score of 75. Teammate Jaxson Greene was the runner-up medalist with a score of 80. Greene tied for the second spot with Micah Johnson from Bedford, who had the same score.
Other Mount Ayr top-10 scores were Tanner Striet fifth with a score of 83, Avery Wolfe sixth with a score of 85, and Louden Main seventh with a score of 86. Other Mount Ayr scores were Jaxsen Walter 89, and Gage Sesker 89.
