Trio of wins for Raiders at Central Decatur Co-Ed

The Mount Ayr boy’s track team picked up three event wins at their last meet of the regular season on Monday, May 12, at Central Decatur. The Raiders won the 400-meter dash, the 4×400-meter relay, and the 4×100-meter relay.
The meet winner was Chariton with 123 points, while Lenox was second with 118 points. Mount Ayr placed third in the team race with 89 points.
Mount Ayr’s Drayden Thompson won the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.50. Garrett Walter, Dyson Thompson, Manny Hyde, Bryson Martin, Tegan Hill, Isac Dugan, Adan Trujillo, and Michael Adkisson each had top-10 finishes in an individual event.
In field events, the Raiders had a pair of runner-up finishes. Dyson Thompson was second in the long jump with a best jump of 19-06.5 while Adler Reed was second in the high jump with a best jump of 5-6. Kellon Shaffer and Trevin Victor also had top-10 finishes in a field event.
The Raiders won the 4X100-meter relay event in a time of 44.79 and the 4×400-meter relay in 3:36.11. The Raiders also added top-5 finishes in the 4X800-meter relay and the sprint medley relay.
