TRURO – Mount Ayr senior Braylon Greenwell led Mount Ayr finishers last week at the Interstate-35 cross-country invitational. Greenwell, ran to a 17th place overall finish in 21:00 to lead three Raider finishers. Earlham won the meet with 27 points followed by Creston in second with 51 points and Des Moines Christian in third with 100 points.
Other Mount Ayr runners to finish were Kellon Shaffer 65th in 28:49 and Austin Briner 69th in 28:58.
Mount Ayr had runners in the middle school race. Eighth grader Alice Briner was the top finisher, placing seventh in 13:37. Other Raider finishers were Bohdin England 33rd in 16:16, Warren Brooks 46th in 18:18, Joel Dolecheck 47th in 18:32, Braxton McAlexander 50th in 18:50, Mason Starmer 55nd in 20:04 and Mia Tseng 60th in 21:46. There were 67 runners in the middle school race.
Des Moines Christian won the middle school team title with 33 points followed by Creston with 53 points in second place.
