MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The Raiderettes ended the 2025 portion of their season with a hard-fought 58-47 victory over Worth County last Friday night in a Iowa vs. Missouri border battle held in Mount Ayr.
The game would be back-and-forth early as Mount Ayr held a two-point advantage after the first quarter 12-10. The Tigers would claim the lead at halftime putting Mount in a rare one-point deficit at halftime.
The Radierettes came out strong in the second half to retake the lead by outscoring Worth County by 10 points in the third quarter. It was a lead that they would not surrender. The Tigers would try to mount a comeback as both teams lit up the scoreboard in the final quarter combining for 40 points.
Juniors Izzy Gilbertson and Dannie Stewart paced balanced Mount Ayr offense. Gilbertson led the team with 19 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Stewart had 15 points and five assists, while Emma Reynodls added 12 points.
Jaylee Shaffer had seven rebounds, six assists and four steals, while MaKel Jones had four rebounds.
The Raiderettes will play again on Jan. 5 against the Lenox Tigers in Lenox.
