More details are emerging for Mount Ayr’s sesquicentennial celebration September 19-21.
Musical headliners include the Final Mix show band, Ritchie Lee and the Fab 50s, the Mikey Needleman Band, Tony Bohnenkamp, Jake Schrodt Music, Jesse and the Medicine Men, the Ridge Runners, and Mount Ayr’s own Korbie Rinehart.
The main stage will be set up on the northeast corner of the square with a second stage at a location yet to be determined.
Along with musicians, the celebration will feature contests such as arm wrestling, beard growing, pipe smoking, pizza eating, a golf tournament, and a return of the historic CroqueMania croquet tournament.
Parades, a variety of show displays, bagpipers and drill team performances, market vendors, and much more are all features of the town’s 150th birthday party.
More details will be released throughout the spring and summer.
